Turbocharger Oil Leak

Recommended Posts

I have a 2017 Skoda Fabia MK3 Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI.

I noticed oil caked on the engine under tray. I removed the oil tray to find the oil sump wet with engine oil. I had a look around and looked up the rear of the engine and noticed engine oil dripping from the turbocharger. I looked at the turbocharger from above, and noticed engine oil on top of the turbo, by the oil feed pipe.

I assume and hope the turbocharger oil feed and oil return pipes are just leaking.

Has anybody else had this issue before?

Is it an easy fix?

Any idea of costs?

Thanks

There is a gasket set available on AutoDoc for around £25 or so. They're not difficult to fit. If the oil drain isn't leaking i'd suggest leaving that one as it's a pig to get out (the o-ring sorta welds itself into the turbo, i was able to hang my whole bodyweight off it and it didn't budge, there's almost no room to get a pick down the side either).

But beside that, the oil feed and coolant gaskets are easy enough to change.
