Software update whilst driving?

Featured Replies

Did my eyes deceive me tonight or does the latest OTA update say that future updates can be actioned whilst driving?

Downloaded the latest update and the info said it related to an update for 'shop' optoin on Octavia and Enyaq models, also something about being able to pay with PayPal. Nothing that concerns me. But just as I cleared the screen, I though the very last line of the info implied that this update would ensure future OTA updates could be actioned whilst driving.  Anyone else see that?

If true, that's going to make life easier. I could never see any reason why you had to press the touchscreen several times only for it to say that for safety reasons, the update can only be downloaded whilst the car is stationary, and then it takes another couple of presses to return to the initial screen 🤪

I think it refers to them continuing while driving, like the Nav updates. I set them going when stationary then I can turn the car off and go indoors or drive off and it continues till completed.

That's displayed on a seperate screen. This was different, it was listed in the itemised updates. Next time someone runs the above mentioned update, perhaps they could take a look.

Or I'll be able to tell myself after the next update comes along :D

Confirmed. Another update today, but this time I was given 3 tab options one of which was 'Update now'.

Selected 'Upodate now' whilst on the move and the system went and did it's thing without complaining about updates can't take place whilst driving.

About time !
