brake disc

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,I have octavia sdi and i want to remove my front disc.Could any one tell me how to take them off and also the tools need.

it is very easy: -

Take wheel off

Look at the disc and you will see a screw on the same circle as the wheel bolts, undo screw and pull disc off. If it won't come off like that you may have to unbolt the caliper which requires undo-ing the 2 17/18mm bolts near the top and bottom of the caliper.

Good luck

You will have to take the caliper and caliper holder off, which straddles the disc....IIRC.

you couldn,t tell me the price of the discs for a octavia sdi 2003

I know TDI ones are about £60 for a pair, so your sdi should be similar

You wont have to unbolt a carrier on the SDi as it will have FSIII brakes, the caliper carrier is part of the bearing carrier.

Just the two 7mm allen key sliders.

You know you are supposed to, or advised to change the pads when you change the discs?

You probably know but just checking :D

Pads are so cheap it isn't worth not doing IMHO

Really needs doing, because old pads won't bed properly to a new disc.
