Door handle not working mk1 VRS

Featured Replies

My partner has just gone to open the passenger side door but the door was frozen shut. Now the door won't open using either the interior or exterior handle.

I can't find anyone with a similar issue.

Does anyone know what to do?

Cheers

Has it definitely totally thawed? In the first instance, I'm not to catastrophising and assume there's a bit of moisture got in the mechanism or latch somewhere and frozen up.

Yeah thawed completely. I think she's tried using brute force and now there is very little resistance to both inner and outer handles as if something has snapped or similar.

You were spot on. Used loads of warm water and now it works! Nice one

Been there myself and was convinced I'd be taking the door apart. Get the latch and door seal sprayed when it's dried off. Silicon or cheap furniture polish for the door rubber, white grease for the door catch.
