Problems with install of aftermarket central locks

Featured Replies

Greetings to all.

I've been reading the comments for months but this is my first post to the Briskoda forum. It is brilliant. I'm currently living in Croatia and have a Fabia classic.

I decided to add central power locks and purchased an aftermarket universal rod style kit. I read everything in the forum about removing door panels and lower dash and all went as smooth as silk. . then came the attaching the rod to the existing lock system. I don't seem to have enough room between the door and the door card.

I know it would have been better to have purchased the original kit but does anyone have any suggestions as to where to attach to the rod so that it doesn't interfere with the door card? Do I have to remove the metal door plate and install from that side?

Any help would be appreciated:)
