I need assistance and information about my Skoda Kodiaq 2022 FL

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I would need a little expert help with my Skoda Kodiaq 2022 facelift in two matters. The first is, if my car has Front Assist + Pedestrian Monitor, can I activate Traffic Sign Detection and Lane Assist? Also, my car doesn't have a parking camera, is it possible to add one? I'm very satisfied with the car itself, but I'd like to add some extras. I have a VAG-COM device myself, but I haven't used it before, so I'm seeking advice from those more knowledgeable.

It sounds like you have the front radar but not the front camera - in which case the only way is a replacement windscreen.

If you do have the front assistance camera then it depends what type, 2Q0 can’t have traffic sign retrofitted, but can have lane assist.

3Q0 can have both. You can check the camera type with your vcds.

Hello, and thank you for responding. I really don't have a camera there upfront, so the lane assist remains unactivated because installing it on the windshield wouldn't be practical and is expensive. It seems that it's not possible to simply install the camera there.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Are you sure there is no camera fitted at all? If you take a close look, from the front at the masked area at the top of the screen, (directly in front of the rear-view mirror) can you see a small lens?

"Hey, the only thing I see there, I also added a picture with 2 small sensors, and googling it seems they are rain sensors. So it seems there's no camera there. Can it be installed there? That's a kind of question.

I'm sure that one of those is a camera.

I'm not sure about it, but I'll take better pictures tomorrow and post them here. Maybe then an expert can check if there's a camera. Of course, perhaps information can also be provided on whether it's possible to install a camera without replacing the entire glass unit and where to order this particular part.

Of course, I should mention that I know relatively little about Skoda. I purchased this car a week ago; it's a Skoda Kodiaq from the year 2022, 4x4, 110 kW diesel, and it has 7 seats. Before this, I was a Honda fan and drove a Honda CR-V for years. However, since Honda doesn't make 7-seaters and I discovered that Skoda is quite comfortable and spacious, I decided to go for it and bought one

They are not the camera.

that is just the rain and light sensor.

a camera is noticeable by a triangle in the top centre of the screen with a solid black border around it, roughly 2 inches in size.

So, it's solved now. There is no camera there, and those extras cannot be obtained :D I am installing a parking camera and a few other tweaks

Hello again! I'm checking whether it would make sense to try replacing regular gas shocks with electronic ones that open and close automatically. Also, how difficult it would be to make the switch. If someone could recommend a link, that would be great.

Take a look at Koni active, they should be a simple swap.

Hello. I don't know if you understand that we are talking about the rear hatch shocks, not the ones under the wheel.

You need to replace the struts, fit a module, create a custom wiring loom, boot latch and additional motor, interior trim and button and all the additional coding, dataset and calibration.

all in for new genuine parts it’s around £1000 before labour is added.

I think he meant the tailgate struts.

even if it was suspension dampers you can’t just fit DCC struts in place of standard, there is a massive amount of work required to do it.

In my defence, I thought that the OP was asking about suspension. It is my understanding that Koni actives are self-contained and are a straight swap for standard units.
