How many times have you hit retry?

Maybe get a dealer to try.

At Least 5 times. Specific error is:" 9  - unable to find meta info file". As if something wrong with the download file. Downloaded again and the same problem. Perhaps my source is corrupted. But cant find any other source.

I'd suggest taking it to the dealer then it's 3 years (ish) old so they should be helping you.

Hi,

Try to upgrade to lower version first - 1233 or 1310 and then to higher version.

you need to have the right path for the 2 folders on the USB stick.  ( root > 5FMIB3EI17xx \ data, meta)

also, i think the SW is wrong... 1790 should be the one for KAmiq\ Scala

what is your VIN?

VIN=TMBGK9NW1L3069261.

Anyhow it did recognized the 1978 but  installed 1798 with an error. Not sure how can i downgrade to 1790

Is there a way to downgrade to previous version?

there is no such thing as sw1978

  • Author

Sorry meant 1798

for SW469 , you need to update tu SW741  AND SW742 , because 741 is an incomplete SW

also, Skoda does not have a higher SW version for your MIB, other than 742

they changed the MIB HW and part number starting with mid 2020

It did install 1798 . But sgain with the above error 9  - unable to find the meta info file

because your HW does not know SW 17xx\ 18xx

Is there a possibility to downgrade to 0742?

you have to try to update first to sw741 AND then to SW742

Ok. Will try to install 0741 and then 0742. Thanks a lot. Hope its possible after my car shows i am already in 1798. Thanks again

Unfortunately versions 0741 & 0742 are not noticeable to the system. Only 1790 and 1798 are shown and can be installed. But then the same error is raised in both cases. Any idea for recovery?

nope, no downgrade option that i know ....

So far seems that only the radio station names are gone (only the broadcast bands are shown). Perhaps it relates to the below message i got when origionally  trying install 1800. I guess i can leave with that. Yet my original challenge to connect s23 (which is supported only by 1800 according to other internet posts) seems to have no solution.

Another thing i think of is perhaps trying to install 1800 again. But this time to press ABORT (or SKIP) for the tunerDB failure in order for the installation to gracefully proceed and at least support the s23 (giving up the station names but earn the s23  connectivity). But not sure about that. Seems too risky as the HW is not compliant with this SW and i am afraid of unexpected problems. Or simpely I am not brave enought for that:)

please post the SW741 and 742 that you have

i want to see if they are correct.
