Hi, thanks for the Add.

Im about to purchase a 2011 Octavia VRS 2.0 tfsi with 67k miles. I know nothing about Skoda but I do do most of my own maintenance on cars so I’m hoping to get some good tips from this forum.

i tend to keep my cars long term so I need it to last several years.

I’m going to see the car tomorrow so any tips on what to look for would be appreciated (although I expect you get bored with answering that question).

The car has some history and only one previous owner. No sign of the cam belt having been done.

thanks

Matt

Can anyone tell me what the period or mileage is when the cam belt should be changed?

Welcome.

Is it not a Timing Chain.

You best read up on the issues there were and is there any history of the car you are getting having had the Timing Chain and Tensioner upgraded or an engine rebuild.

There is a pinned thread at the top of the Octavia Mk2 section on 1.8 & 2.0 TSI engines.

It is a 2.0 TSI is it not, rather than a TFSI?
