just had a letter from local dealer saying skoda has change there policy on cambelts.

they said they had to be changed at every 4 years is this true:(

Thought that was always the case already? 4 years or 120.000 kms (80K miles) iirc.

I have asked Skoda Customer Service for a definitive answer as to whether the 180,000km (rounded up to 120,000 miles) cam belt replacement interval for the 1.8T engine in the Service Schedule has now been changed to 60,000 miles/4 years or whatever.

The reply from Skoda Customer Service is here. They have confirmed that the replacement interval is the mileage interval specified for the particular engine, or 4 years, whichever comes first. This applies across the VAG range.
