Not tried it yet myself cos i got no credit on my phone but hope it is useful for folk here and I dare say I'll use it in the future.

so if you are looking for a used car take your mobile with you.

All you do is send a text message

CHECKIT (followed by the registration number)

to 88600 and within minutes you will receive a text message giving make/model; last 4 numbers of VIN plate, engine size, whether it has been stolen, scrapped,no. of owners and/or imported.
