Considering ECU remap for better fuel economy?

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

I have a 1.5 SE Tech Karoq, Petrol, manual gearbox, and noticed that the fuel economy is a bit underwhelming. Yes, it's a heavy SUV but with the Active Cylinder Technology - I think it could do better. My driving style has changed to improve mpg from 39mpg to 45-47mpg, but with such a strong engine getting up to speed takes a lot out at times - especially when this engine is so revvy at low gears.

Question is - has anyone tried a ECU remap on their Karoq and has this improved efficiency? Not considering a tuning chip box as those are a false economy IMO.

Thanks!

Maybe do a wee search on 1.5 ACT remaps just on this forum and then a wider search.

Maybe spending £400 or so might mean you have a bit better bhp / Torque and get up to speed quicker and can coast more or be on 2 cylinders.

Personally i would spend on a Warranty, keep it valid when it is a 1.5 TSI ACT.
