Crack in the sunroof plastic chassis - MK3 2016

Hello everyone,

 

latley i had some water enter the car from the front pilar both side.

 

iv checked the sunroof drain are not clugged and its not.

 

what i did notice is a crack in the sunroof plastic chassis.

any idea how to resolve it?

does glue will be enough?

anyone ever encountered this?

Hello, welcome to the forum. I'd suggest a through clean of the full length, then a quality flexible, adhesive sealant - making sure to get it right up into the corners beneath the flexible seals.

anyone know what sort of plastic is it or how can i find out?
so i can find the correct sealent.

A Polyurethane adhesive is probably your best bet - strong adhesion, waterproof and flexible.

 

to be extra sure I’d get a 3M plastic adhesive primer first, else it’s gonna be a complete sunroof setup
