2011 Skoda Superb V6 won't start

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 2011 Skoda Superb V6 4x4 DSG that wont start.

A few months ago the message "keyless defective" appeared on the display between the gauges.

Now when I try to start the car I get the message "depress brake pedal to start" even though my foot is hard on the brake.

Anyone know how I can fix this? Is there a keyless sensor close to the Engine Start button that I can replace?

Tried to use my OBDII scanner today but it couldn't detect the car since I can't turn on the ignition.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Anyone know where the keyless sensor is located?

Hello Zaander, welcome to the forum. My understanding is that the fob sensor is in or around the engine start button - it may be incorporated in the button. I recall that the procedure for activating the immobiliser with a dead key fob battery is to place the fob directly against the start button. The 'depress brake pedal' issue will probably be a separate problem.

Hello,

Thanks. I removed the plastic cover today and looked everywhere around the steering wheel and the engine start button but I couldn't find any sensor.

I tried holding the key fob against the button but it made no difference unfortunately.

I asked the same question in another forum and was told there that it might be a faulty electronic steering wheel lock. What do you think?

I think a faulty steering wheel lock is unlikely to be the cause. I'm wondering if your start button has failed - I have see recent posts where this turned out to be the cause.

Does the instrument panel light up when you attempt to start?

Nope nothing. I do hear the fuel pump though.
