Changing my Octavia Mk3 steering wheel - HELP

Featured Replies

I want to change the steering wheel on my mk3 1.4 TSI 2014 from the standard 4 spoke that comes with the Elegance to a facelifted 3 spoke wheel, possibly a flat bottom, if I can get my hands on one. I have done a bit of browsing on ebay but I am getting confused with all the different part numbers that come up.

I believe my steering wheel is either a 3E0419091AC or a 5E0419091AC, picture below, but I wouldn't know for certain without taking the airbag off first. Can I simply switch to any wheel avaliable in the mk3 line-up?

Of all the numbers listed in the part number, which are the most important to follow? I have found a 5E0419091AP that I would like to swap it out for but I am concerned the buttons won't work if I buy the wrong thing.

Am I getting too caught up in the part numbers or is there a system that I should be following to make sure all of the buttons work once I have swapped the wheel?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

I think the real question is - will the Airbag fit.

As far as the multifunction buttons, they should fit, and if they for some reason don't, you can always use your original ones.

I have the same problem, the same steering wheel, 5E0419091AP, but I am unsure if the Airbag will fit, since my OCT is from 2019.

From what I have found out, latest airbag which fits is 6V0 880 201 AB, mine is 6V0 880 201 AF.

Question is - is the difference between letters only estetical nature or different design of housing?

Maybe someone can clarify...
