Door sensor (ajar) not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I have Skoda Fabia Mk2 2011 model. The door sensor is not working. When the driver door is opened I don’t see warning light on the dashboard interior light doesn’t work. What would be the cause? Thanks

Broken wire(s) in bellows at A-pillar is my best guess, assuming the warning light works on other doors.

Cheers.

Had this on my 67 Fabia - it wouldn't recognise driver's door being opened, & if I didn't get the ingnition key in quick the alarm went off: likewise, lights left on alarm was disabled.  The door-pillar wires are notoriously fragile, but all fine - turned out to be microswitch in door lock assembly (of course, it's a tiny item inside the body & you have to replace the whole unit..)  My friendly mechanic was quoted upwards of £120-130 (+ VAT) from suppliers, but found the part number online & tracked one on ebay/Amazon(?) for £30.
