Kodiaq payload

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to carry 450kg of tiles, I believe I will be ok as payload is max 649kg.

Am I right with payload max?

Weight is not a problem, the distribution is.

Whatever you do, do not load them into the boot. Fold back seats and try to place them on rear axle. Otherwise you risk to bend the body in rear.

Was going to fold all seats and spread boxes around- will focus above axle

Above and between axles is ok, behind the axle not more than 100 - 150 kg.

My wife asked me why I’m chuckling into my iPad.

She suggests making 2 trips 😀

What if martmap is planning a trip to Spain?

I'm chuckling with her at the thought of the bodyshell bending with a 450kg load!

Very silly to chuck about something you have no idea of.

Some years ago loaded floor tiles into trunk, maybe 600 kg or something. New car. Drove to country house. At some point heard strange crack from the back.

When arrived, discovered dents on both sides of the roof. The boot has moved and bent the body.

I understand with 600kg, 450kg is 70 stone. Kidiag is 7 seater, 10 stone per passenger. 5 adults more than 70 stone

As I said, the weight distribution is the key word.

5 adults are located between the axles.

I loaded all the stuff to boot, behind the rear axle.

What were you even thinking about loading 600kg behind the rear axle?

Not all of it, the back seats were folded as the tiles were 1200 cm long, but most of the weight was obviously in the boot. Didn`t expect it, as my previous Mondeo wagon took such a load without issues.
