VAG Approved Used Benefits..... Skoda & Audi being left behind?

Featured Replies

I notice that there is currently a split with the VAG companies' Approved Used benefits with Seat, Cupra and VW all now offering 2 years warranty and 2 years roadside assist with every Approved Used car but Audi and Skoda still only offering 1 year of each. (Although with Skoda when using PCP to buy the car you then get the second year warranty and roadside).

So looks like we're getting a bum deal when it come to buying approved used. 🙄

I was just looking to run a post regarding this, had to hazard a guess where it might go and found this thread. Been window shopping for a while for some new cars in the family. I want a Superb 3 276 if I can get a good one and SWMBO would like a Golf maybe a 7.5 from the current Seat Leon she has. I have stayed in the Skoda family owning 3 Skodas at the moment. I would like the next car for me, to have an approved warranty and other benefits, like you @WaveyDavey noticed that a Seat or VW provides the peace of mind I would like with the next purchase. Really don’t understand this rationale by VAG.

Are the difference when Buying a used car, cash money or using finance or renting the Approved used cars.

I don't get the argument.  These things do not come free. If VW and SEAT are adding an extra year then I'm sure both Skoda and Audi will argue that VW and SEAT have already built the additional warranty in to the price of their used cars. If you want 'piece of mind' ( whatever that is ) then just buy an extra year warranty to make it a level playing field.

Not sure if it's still true but when I bought a new SEAT it came with 3yr warranty but only 2yr roadside.  Did I think I was a 'bum deal'?  Given the Ateca was so much cheaper than it's VW or Audi counterparts, no I didn't.

Doesn't your argument also hold true for servicing? Why does maintenance and service prices differ for each VW Group brand when the engine is exactly the same throughout?

Doesn't your argument hold true with PCP offers etc? The four brands all offer different interest rates despite all being financed by VWFS.

t's like wanting an Audi to have the same warranty as a VW, serviced at SKODA prices and costing the same as a SEAT.  :D

These are four different brands offering different products, you can't pick and choose what you want from each.
