Slowly reversing up slight incline - crunch and dashboard error

Featured Replies

Hi All

I was turning the car around the other day and reversed up a slight incline into someone's driveway - not steep and not fast.

Suddenly there was a crunch, but it wasn't the front bumper scraping on the road, the car jolted to a stop and there was an error on the dash which I didn't manage to fully read - something about manoeuvre brake?

Put the car back in drive and off I went just fine.

It's a DSG / 4x4 if that helps.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The ‘crunch’ noise you heard would be the ABS pump applying full pressure to the brakes very quickly as the manoeuvre braking thought you were about to collide with something :)
