vRS wheel nut size

Featured Replies

What size are the wheel nuts on the vRS alloys?

19mm?

I'm buying a spider wrench and want to know if i'm wasting my money :D

Chris.

Assuming they are the same as the Octavia (and loads of other VAG cars), they will be M14X1.5X27 - whatever that means. A 17mm socket fits nicely.

I have the Octavia Pegasus alloys on 16" from the Octavia Estate but I kept the standard wheel nuts/locking nuts from the origonal vRS alloys so they could well be the same?

Ask a Tech ;)

M14 is 14mm thread diameter,

1.5 is 1.5mm pitch (the distance between each turn of the thread

27 is the length of the bolt. I can't remember if that is the threaded part or both the threaded part and the unthreaded part.

Unfortunately that doesn't tell you what spanner will fit it!

However, this website has a table (table 7.7) with standard spanner sizes and bolt sizes. An M14 comes out as a 17mm open spanner, or a 30mm socket (the 30mm is the external diameter of the socket).

HTH :)
