Low function rear lights / Cornering DRL

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Had a quick search but only found one thread on low function rear lights and it didn’t come to a conclusion.

We’re picking up a ‘73 Octavia Estate SEL soon and it standard with no options. This means it comes with ‘low function’ rear lights and standard fogs at the front.

I know it is not possible to add high function rear lights and dynamic turn signal etc as that is a whole different set of hardware the car isn’t even built with which is fine. Totally get that.

What I want to know is

1) The ‘C’ rear sidelight the unit on the boot lid is it a ‘dummy’ lamp or in some markets can the extended sidelight be enabled and therefore in the UK can I just code this on so it’s not just on the outter lamp but also extends to tailgate?

2) Car fitted with normal fogs, cornering not enabled. Again is this hardware or just simple coding to turn it on?

Finally does anyone have any photos of low function rear estate lights at night as can only find high function on internet searches.

Thanks all, look forwards to swapping the Karoq for the Octavia in a few weeks. Karoq has been brilliant.

I have low functioning rear lights and fog lights on my 22 se l estate. I used obd11 app to turn on the cornering fog lights and fog lights with full beam. So that can be done but as far as activation of the rear lights in the tailgate I would be interested in this too
