Oily Turbo

Featured Replies

Hi guys, new here. I've had my Octavia mk2 VRS tdi since October and it's been running great but I have noticed that it smells of fumes while sat inside and when stood outside the smells of diesel is strong.  Now and then when starting the car the idle is very lumpy and the other day it started, I drove around the corner and the car cut out, I was lucky there was a lay by I could roll into. I tried starting the car but it just kept cranking over and wouldn't start, after a minute or so it miraculously started, i serviced the car myself the very next day and it has been fine ever since...  full sokda service history, no warning lights.  I checked under the bonnet and I can see there is oil around the turbo where the breather pipe connects, took the pipe off and can see small oil Residue.  I have seen other people on this forum with the same issue but I thought I'd post here just for my sakes.  Any help would be appreciated thanks guys
