Knocking on idle

Featured Replies

HI. I have the knocking issue on idle and have arrowed it down to the vale, as in this thread.

The Thread has not been responded too for quite a while according to the date. My issue is the valve part number, i can not find it anywhere and not too sure if its going to be a dealer part only. My part is the same as mustafasahi. I can not find the same part anywhere. Any help would be appreciated

@Jackthecat  Those cars were pretty new, your's is 3 years old.

?

How many miles has it done, and is it over 3 years old and out of the manufacturers warranty?

2021, 18500k, 2 year used skoda warranty. Only had it 4mths

Follow the ribbed hose that does an S shape over to the engine. They split at the clip on top of the cam belt cover. If you pull it out of the clip you can close the hole and the knock will stop. get the hose replaced.

Checked for splits right along, but nothing. Car goes in on thursday and ive already been in touch to advise is it a warranty part, but they where very vague in their answer, so if they do try  and charge their usual £167 non warranty issue, then i will be quite annoyed. Now the emergency anouncment is going off again. Did this less than a month ago and it was updated, but appears back again, AND it now asks where would i like to go. So a coupel of issues for them to look at.

Ok. Went into the dealers on thursday, ALL DAY, even though i dropped it off at 8am. For them to say, they heard the noise but it is not loud enough to warrant a change under warranty?  So, if the item is faulty but is not banging away loud enough for their ears, then its a no no? even though they say it has a fault as they can hear it...im lost on that one. They couldnt replacate the emegency anouncement or the voice system asking "where now", but did find the drivers door needed a new lock as the one on it threw a fault up? i didnt have any problems with the door. So, nothing fixed for what it went if for but something fixed for the joy of it.
