We have a Mk1 2006 Ambiente  1.2 6 4bhp and recently the lock / unlock switch does not work. The car locks / unlocks using the key manually or remotely no problem.

I have replaced the whole windows / central locking drivers side switch but the problem is still present.

I assume that as remote central locking works it is not a fuse issue.

Any ideas ?

Broken wire or corroded connection at one of the A-pillar connectors,  I imagine.

 

More specifically, it will be the brown/green wire that goes to pin 2 of the white A-pillar connector that has the issue.
