Android auto missing first words of navigation instructions?

Featured Replies

Recently when using navigation with android auto it is missing the first word or two from instructions so it says 'turn right' instead of 'after 200 metres turn right'. When you get close to the junction, at the point where it would normally just say 'turn right', it doesn't say anything. On roundabouts it's almost unusable as the instructions are so short and so late that I've gone past the turning.

I can understand how this could happen with bluetooth but this is a wired connection via usb directly in to the HU with no bluetooth running.

Using navigation on the phone itself, not connected to the HU, it's fine and every word is spoken.

The issue is not specific to any geographical place. It's happening everywhere

Anyone else had this and knows the reason or better still  has a solution?

Tried changing the voice ?    Sure I had this once and a different voice sorted it.

No, but I've used the same voice forever (didn't even realise it could be changed!) and it didn't always do this
