Skoda Fabia MK2 VRS Engine Rebuild

Featured Replies

Hello all

Just become a new member today, and yes, before I get to it, I should have come this way first, but I have never had issues like this before with finding a garage.

I am struggling to find anyone who can actually carry out work on engines. So far, not one single garage can carry out anything but basic services that most people can do themselves.

This Fabia MK2 VRS and possibly, if not the best, car I have ever owned hit a lot of good points.

Anway, the issue I am getting is some misfiring in 2 of the cylinders, and I am burning around 1 litre of oil every 600 miles.

I have replaced the spark plugs that did end up taking away all of the misfiring, but with the oil leaking in from worn rings, it is slowly coming back as they get burned.

When you drive now and again, you get a puff of smoke from the buildup. Also, the timing chain could do with being replaced. At 108k miles, the car has a full history of over-the-top services, but the last owner might have had too much fun.

Anyway, I just can not seem to find any arrangements to replace the following:

Water Pump

Piston Rings

Timing Chain

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome.

The answers are in the Pinned Threads In the Fabia Mk2 section, but there are many answers.

Then there are the many many threads with all the answers in the section since 2010.

When a mod moves this thread there there might be people who can help.

Arhhh, that's where you are now I did wonder.  I thought about reporting to a Mod to move but decided against it thinking two's better.  Thanks.
