Contaminated diesel fuel

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have drained water from the fuel filter of my partners car (Honda Civic ) after a warning message showed up on the dashboard. I have a Skoda Octavia mk3 1.6 tdi 2017. For my biggest surprise there is no drain point at the bottom of the fuel filter. We were getting the diesel from the same source. How could I check if I have any water in the fuel filter?

Remove the cover.

This happened to me a while ago within my wifes previous Landrover, I ended replacing the fuel filter myself twice to get rid of the water contaminated diesel, as it also put the it into limp mode, twice. This is the only time ever I've experienced bad fuel, within over 35 years of driving.

Hopefully this would never happen to you again.
