EPC light, Traction control and Engine management light kn

Featured Replies

Hi, my 1.2 TSI 2014 rapid has developed a fault recently the lights listed come on about 10 seconds after start up and is misfiring. I have replaced the plugs and coil pack yet still no luck. Could anyone enlighten me on this issue. Many thanks

CODE: PO0302 cylinder 2 misfire

Hopefully someone can help.    But just out of curiosity.  Were the spark plugs in need of replacing.   As in was the gap too big, oiled or suited up?  Then what made you go to the expense of buying coils rather than just plugs first?

Gap was too big I'd think, had just tried the coil pack today after the plugs a couple days ago.

Best get a diagnosis and stop throwing parts at it.  What was the pre gapped plugs you put in set at?  Did you check then?

Thanks, yeah didn't check with a gauge but they were said to been pre gapped at 0.8m. Bosh double iridium plugs.

@Bjohn2544 The traction control fault makes me think of an ABS sensor, since they're used to effect traction control, by cutting throttle, with similar feelings to a misfire.

Thanks, Would it still be doing that on start up? It's misfiring from as soon as the cars started.

If the car is throwing a misfire code then it's an actual misfire and not just a similar feeling...

Was this swapping the position of coil at No.2 to another cylinder to see if the error code moved with it?
