Factory order lead time

Featured Replies

Placed an order for a Kamiq Monte Carlo and was quoted 20 weeks, just wondering if anyone has ordered and have build/ delivery dates, or indeed received their new Kamiq lately, just to gauge if 20 weeks is realistic or if it’s likely to be longer.

@Kenny R Are you extending the Warranty on it?

Thinking about taking all in package when manufacturers warranty ends.

Worth doing the extended before the car is first registered IMO.

I fully agree if you are planning on keeping the car past year 3.

I have taken the manufacturer extended warranty previously, and on my current Kodiaq, which is just over 2 years old, but change in circumstances means I no longer need 7 seater big car so downsizing to a Kamiq, so I believe next owner will benefit from extended warranty at my expense.

As i got, a Kamiq production line starts only two times per year - in January-February(maybe March) ant the June-July(maybe August).

That's why you can order it in February - lead time will approximately be 5-6 months. Another person can make an order in May. Both of them get their cars delivered in July-August.

My Kamiq was ordered 7th of March, car entered production line 2nd of April and was delivered 30th of May, 2024.

Any production line might start twice a year.  After the festive break if the factory shuts down and maintenance is done then.  Then summer break. Maintenance, new lines set up for production stating of the New Models or revised ones for the next year.  MY 25 models produced after the break this year.

It's interesting that when I looked just a few weeks ago, the Skoda UK website showed 2000 Kamiq's in dealer stock and now there's 1174.  Our local dealer had 35, now they've got 15.

They were realy thin on the ground when we got ours last November as the previous version was running out then facelift was still months away.  We needed the car quickly as a car in the family had been written off.   Local dealer laughed at the suggestion of getting a car quickly, and another not too far away promised us a loan car if we waited for one they had coming in (a SEAT dealer had done that on an Ateca we bought in similar circumstances)  but when we got to the dealership they said they couldn't provide the loan car for a couple of weeks, and everyone we spoke to at the dealership, especially the GM, seemed like cowboys.   Got one in Wigan - worked out fine.
