Noisy ac Octavia MK2 2012

Featured Replies

Hi!

First post here...

There is a noise that sounds like a bad bearing when I have the ac on. The noise goes away when I turn the ac off (pushing ac button). The noise changes when I rev the engine.

I know there is a bearing on the pulley, but if it is that bearing, I guess the noise wouldn't go away when I turn the ac off, by pressing the ac button, as the pulley always spin.

Are there a bearing deeper inside the ac compressor that might be possible to replace, or could it be some other problem making the noise?

The ac is working fine, it is just noisy.

Sorry for bad English!

If anyone is able to answer this please, I have exactly the same problem as the OP.

Was thinking of doing an AC recharge as the AC is not as cold as it once was.

I have licenced copy of VCDS with HEX-V2 if a scan would help. Would need instructions as not used VCDS other than to register the supplied cable.

Thanks.

Kev.

Edit: Minor typo.

Made a vid of the noise. I push the AC button off and on in the vid.
