I thought it better to make my debut enty by being informative.

I have recently bought a new Fabia Vrs and am extremely pleased with it. Like all new cars there are bound to be a few niggling teething problems but mine had one which I feel sure other owners may have experienced and wished they could resolve.

My problem was one of an annoying buzzing noise coming from behind the glovebox at an engine speed of approximately 1300 rpm. I managed to trace the source of the noise to the air filter box which is mounted on rubber sound insulation bushes. The steel peg that supports the filter box closest to the bulk head was protruding too far through the rubber mounting and making direct contact with the plastic filter box. I remedied this by simply bending the mounting peg back a little on its bracket towards the bulkhead. Very simple and permanent solution.

Hope other fabia owners who still have this problem are able to benefit from this fix.....
