Hi, new here.  Google led me here to the source of all skoda knowledge.

 

just got a march 2015 fabia se l with a bolero unit. Missed the carplay cut off by weeks!!

 

if i source the glovebox unit from a newer carplay equipped vehicle is it a case of get the code for the new unit, install and happy carplay days or is there more to it?

 

i see talk of patching and hacking but what does this involve/mean?

These units are NOT covered with any security code but with component protection technology.

Patching means firmware in the unit must be modified todisable component protection in HMI and enable all the feature.
