Featured Replies

What is it? Not my video but I have the same:

Usually the turbo actuator/waste gate mechanism. Worse when cold preheating the gpf.

Repair kit

You could try that as well as ceramic grease to help.

Thanks, but it isnt this. I have already fixed the wastegate with repair kit.

How longs it been going on? Not sure if it's only the smaller engines where the cam bolts work themselves loose.

Hi everyone, i'm driving an Octavia 1.5 TSI, but experiencing the same rattling noise from the wastegate control rod. I'd like to fix this issue with the repair kit 05E198701A, but is this a simple repair I can do myself? My Skoda dealer tells me they first need to plan a diagnosis appointment to make sure the issue is caused by the control rod. I'm afraid this could be a very costly repair for fitting two small rings and clips. What actually needs to be done? Should the current E-clips on the rod be replaced by the new ones? And what to do with the rings provided with the repair set?
