looking for advice understanding felicia front wishbones.

Featured Replies

Have removed the front wishbones for maintenance (rust removal and repaint).

Also looking at the bushing and found that the rear busing appears to be stuck on the wishbone.

Isn't this suposed to be able to rotate around the inner rod?

The way its is now is that all rotating movement is absorbed by the rubber bushing and that appears to be a bit much.

Should i try to remove the bushing from the wisbone to free it up?

And if so how?  there is a big disk at the end with a round hole in the centre; shoud that be removed?

Btw its a 2000 felicia 1.4 mpi engine

1.3 MPI was in the Felicia

1.4 MpI was in the Fabia, have you made an engine swap?

No

That is correct. The rubber is flexible enough to take all movements, so there's no sliding that would wear out other parts. It's like that on most newer cars, MK1 Octavia even has main bushing mounted horizontally. The bushing just has to be installed correctly, so it's not loaded when the car is standing on wheels.

Found a nice video that shows the bushing movement
