DSG Click Sound

Featured Replies

Hello,

I cant find similar topic so I created new one.

So i bought Octavia mk4 2021 2.0 150HP with DSG, I am the second owner.

Everythig is so great and Its amazing car, however I am intrested in one thing.

When i turn on ignition i hear buzzing sound from direcrionfof transmision, so I turn on vehicle, turn of elecronic handbrake and swich to D.

Every time i switch from P to D , or P to R, or backwards i hear clicking sound. In my opinion thats ok , because P brake must relase to go into D or R mode.

I would like to hear more opinions on this and does anyone have same "thing".

Welcome.

You are putting your foot on the brake pedal to move from P to R or R,N to D are you not?

?

Why are you turning off the E-brake / Parking brake, that releases automatically when you move / press the accelerator does it not?

When the DSG comes out of P the Pawl is releasing that holds the car when in P.    But the Parking Brake should also be holding / enabled.

?

Do you have Autohold enabled?

Ty,

Yeah, Im holding brake pedal when moving between P,R,N,D.

Well im turning it  off because of habit, i am aware that releases automatically when move.

The point is just that sound when it come from P to D, P to R or vice versa.

You are right , surely it is the Pawl when it goes from P do R or D.

Shifting beetween R,N,D,S IS quiet.

Autohold is not enbled.

Ty for reply.
