Something of a changelog available?

Not that I am aware of.

Got my car back today, the update failed on Friday so they had to keep it in over the weekend, so far so good.

More issues with ACC and assisted tech. Update didn’t seem to work. Car going back in to the garage.

Still no Departure Planner too, I regret buying this car, Skoda have really dropped the ball.

"Your vehicle currently doesn't have a departure planner option. The development team is finalizing the functionality, and it should be deployed soon in one of the next releases"

I have informed Skoda that I will be invoicing them for the additional cost of charging at normal rates v night time rates.

As the vehicle has been delivered not as described, this is not a cost that I should have to pay for.

The difference is 21p/KWh.

Assuming 2miles/KWh, each 1,000 miles on electric is an additional £105.

I'm prepared to go to small claims court if necessary!

I have been chasing this with Skoda since August '24.

I was told it would be released in October, than December, than March....

2 weeks ago I was told by Skoda the feature will not be coming to the Kodiaq iv at all!

As you pointed out, your Kodiaq IV does not come with scheduled timers for charging and we can advise there are currently no plans for a software update that would allow for this feature.  The Kodiaq IV can avail of scheduled charging via the the wall box charger's APP.

This was false advertising, it was listed as a feature on their website so I've logged a complaint with the Consumer Protection Commission in Ireland. Waiting for a response. The dealer was in touch, Skoda asked him to contact me but he obviously can't do anything and just passed on the message back to Skoda.

I'm going to keep fighting this until I get a resolution. I would not have purchase the car if I knew it didn't have the ability to schedule charging to take advantage of cheap nighttime rates, its costing us a fortune.

Never buying a Skoda again (I've owned 4 over the years) they can't be trusted and their customer care is awful, avoid.

We are being told different things then.

1. Send an invoice to your local dealer with the additional costs, adding that if it isn't paid within 14 days you will go to the small claims court.

  1. Ask them to install/upgrade your home charger for free, to one that can utilise timer charging.

  2. Which? Legal, may also be able to assist.

The clincher for me is the manual.

It has a picture of what the charging display should actually look like.

I just got a FB invite from official Škoda eMobility explorer group that is specially for plug in hybrid drivers.

Maybe we'll get some answers there.

I few days ago I asked Škoda why the manual clearly details the departure planner but my new Kodiaq iV is missing this functionality.

I received following response from Škoda support...

....We have received the response of your issue from our technical department, which as follows: Your vehicle does not currently have a departure planner option. The development team is finalizing the functionality, and it should be deployed soon in one of the next releases.

Not very promising!

Even though the 25.11.24 revision date has stayed the same, the departure planner that was until a couple of weeks ago included in the digital user manual has now disappeared!    The 11.24 version of the paper user manual that was supplied with the car still includes it!

Sneaky.

Good job I took a screen shot before they removed it.

New update from the dealer who sold me the car (re: departure planner). I won’t hold my breath.

They are still working to activate the functionality and it is estimated to be available from CW28/25 however ill have to give you final confirmation closer to the date.

To keep a record of the additional money it has cost me to charge, I'm using the 'fuel & charging costs' section of the app.

I will be using this to send them an invoice in the near future.

Just had an update.

This is an extract.

We acknowledge your concerns and fully understand the importance of being able to schedule charging times—especially when it comes to maximizing the benefits of overnight electricity rates. This functionality is indeed a key feature for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle users, and we regret that it was not available at the time of delivery despite being mentioned in promotional materials and the user manual.
Please be assured that our development team is actively working to finalize and deploy this crucial feature. It is expected to be included in one of the upcoming software releases. We will keep you updated on the progress and provide installation details as soon as the update becomes available for your vehicle.

Seems they have changed their tune since I was told it's not happening at all. Lets see, we might get it before the car is a 1 year old.

Hi pheverish, I’m assuming this update is from Skoda and not the dealership, they admit this functionality is a key feature for PHEV and Electric vehicles, not to mention false advertising, They must at some point get this feature working, its just when

I have an ongoing ticket open with Skoda support.

Meanwhile, by inputting the difference in electricity unit cost, you can use their own app to highlight how much extra it is to charge.

I will be invoicing them in due course.

Hi

Adding to this old thread, just bought a SEL PHEV and having the same issues with charging schedule. Can connect via API and nothing in app or car to allow.

Contacted Skoda and having been giving a load of duff instructions on to how to do it, I was told the following:

After checking the information in the system, we can see that the charging location is still not available for the vehicle.

However, approximately in the middle of July 2025, the Departure Planner service will be released again. Unfortunately, there is no clear confirmation whether this service will be added to vehicles produced before the re-release period.

I would say if your car was produced before mid July you will not be getting the departure planner, going off past information from Skoda I have no reason to believe it will be introduced in July either. I got my Kodiaq mark 2 in September and have given up hope of ever getting it

I’m not holding my breath, too many broken promises by Skoda around this. Clearly false advertising.

Yes, sounds like that.

There was a typo in original note, I can’t connect via API to Ohme app.

I have been asking Customer Service about the lack of this feature, and their latest response said:

“Thank you for your patience and for bringing the issue with the charging planning feature to our attention.

We’ve confirmed with our technical team that there is currently a known limitation affecting this functionality, and it is temporarily unavailable. Please rest assured that our development team is actively working on a resolution.

We will keep you informed as soon as the service is restored. In the meantime, we truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.”

I have now asked when will this be available and how will it be activated in my car.

I’m awaiting a response to that at the moment.

I've requested a payment from them to cover the difference in cost which I've tracked using their app.

They have 14 days before I take it to court.

I had my kodiaq a couple of months ago and have been worried given what I’ve been reading about the 12v going flat.

So far it hasn’t happened to me. Given my concerns I’ve tried to make sure that I connect the charger close to bedtime, maybe 2-3 hours max before the off peak rates kick in, and I disconnect it again first thing in the morning, which is usually about 3 hours after the end of the off peak charging period. The actual start and end time will vary though because I am on Octopus Intelligent go.

Maybe my troubles are still ahead of me with regards to the battery going flat, but just wanted to share to give some confidence to others that they might not necessarily face the same problems that some have been facing.
