Brake reservoir cap

Featured Replies

Does anyone happen to know the size of the brake reservoir cap for an Octavia 2015?

A lot of places sell an E20 cap with pressure bleeders and they reckon they do most of the European cars but I can't find what size the Octavia's is.

I've done a search on here but nothing is coming up

Cheers.

Pretty sure it's 45mm the cap supplied with the sealey pressure bleeder fits every vw group I've had in last 10 years.

Appreciate it thanks. I had thought it might have been but it's a lot of money if it doesn't fit. 45mm is also E20 which seems to be the European standard. I'll go ahead and buy it so I can get the clutch bled. Pedal every now and then doesn't want to come up but otherwise works perfectly

Your slave cylinder might be on the way out

Amazing, If it was the slave wouldn't it be an issue more often or all the time? I took a look in the reservoir and it's pretty dark.

I assume the slave is inside, rather than external one my 2007 estate has?

On mine it started intermittently, the clutch pedal would almost slap my foot when I first moved the car after it sitting for a day or so. Tried to bleed the clutch but no difference. Was a few months before it failed totally. Yep inside the bell housing. I did the flywheel at the same time but mechanic reckoned it was fine so could have got away with just the clutch.

If it is the slave it's annoying to say the least that a pretty cheap part requires removal of trans. A story of the modern vehicle world. I remember driving home In my 73 240z with a failed slave.

No clutch at all. Fluid all over ground.  Had to anticipate traffic lights or start car in gear. Changed gear minimally by releasing throttle and moving gear with drive pressure off!  Luckily, I was in a remote part of the world and it wasn't too busy. Next day, replaced it with just a car jack, coouple of ring spanners, the wheel off and a block of wood for secondary fall protection!!

Thanks, mine will only do it once but it isn't in the morning, it could be at any point during driving and then it'll be fine again. It hasn't done it for the past two days

I'm going to try and bleed it as the fluid is clearly old although it's probably a good idea to start saving up for a new kit. I'm wondering whether to do the flywheel, clutch and the slave in a oner at 96k
