Snappe Wheel Bolts

Featured Replies

Having a reoccurring issue of snapped wheel bolts, mainly on front left wheel

Running 10mm spacers so do have longer bolts anyhow, tried a couple different makes of bolts and they all are snapping.

Personally not a fan of the bolt design and much prefer the wheel studs being attached to the hub, if there such thing as a conversion kit or anyway around this issue

cheers

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Are the affected bolts snapping while driving - or do they seize-up in use and break when you attempt to remove them?

Are the longer bolts used from a reputable supplier - are they being tightened to the correct torque? Do you use anything to lubricate them when fitting?

Apart from ease of mounting a wheel, there would be absolutely no difference between bolts and studs with respect to risk of breakage.

Is there any "hub centring"  built into these spacers and is the spaced out wheel, wheel centre the same size as the mating part on the spacer?

What tightening torque figure are you using?( a repeated question)

Thank you for reply’s

After playing around with different wheel and spacer combinations, we’ve discovered that the issue was related to the spacers not being compatible with the inner lip of the alloy we were running. Now running new alloys with different spacers and no problems as of yet

thank you
