MK2 Fabia DSG gearbox service

Featured Replies

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help regarding a query on my DSG gearbox. I've been told by the garage that my DSG gearbox is way overdue a service as it's done over 90k miles. I had been told previously that it was a sealed for life and that it didn't need a service however I've now been told it's got an oil sump and filter which the filter and oil needs changing every 40k miles. They said they couldn't do it and to ring up the Skoda dealership/garage however they've repeated what I was told previously that it's a sealed unit and has no service requirements. Could someone confirm please? I'm growing increasingly concerned as I have noticed it begining to make a clunking sound when changing gears or when I put my foot down to pull out into a junction, the revs will go very high before it eventually jolts into the next gear.

It sounds like the clutch packs are worn out rather than a service issue.

@rob84red  Welcome.

Whoever told you your DSG was way overdue a Service does not know what DSG the car has.

The DQ200 DSG your car has has no Service Schedule or Interval for changing Oil or a Filter.

There are 2 oils.   In the MCU and the Box.  (They can be Changed, but there is no schedule and 40,000 miles does not apply to them.)

Did your car even get the Recall Action / Service Campaign from 2014 on 2010-2012 DQ200,s.

'34F7',  The Oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a Software Updare.

There should be a sticker in the Spare Tyre Well showing if done. Date & Dealers Stamp.
