My Karoq suddenly lost one of the horn tones

Featured Replies

One of the two horn tones stopped and my local dealer diagnosed a broken wire. They reattached the wire which restored the second tone and also said they had rewired the other tone too.
There was no further information regarding the fix such as whether the repair was a proper Skoda part. I haven't yet got a copy of the invoice so can't check. I have had a look but cannot see exactly where the horns, or their wiring are.

Unfortunately,  the tone stopped working again shortly afterwards. (I only found out when wanting to warn a truck and trailer about to cut in front of me on the M25!!)

I have the Skoda servicing, warranty, AA deal so wasn't charged the £135 they would have wanted fortunately. But now waiting to rebook the car. My nearest dealer is in Oswestry so it's a bit of a faff.

Have any other owners experienced this or a similar problem?

Does anybody have an idea of how a power lead to the horns could be broken?

I'm taking the car on Monday afternoon (23rd) and want to be armed with as much info as possible.
