Radiator always on once car warmed up. Not sure why!

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently I had a stage 1 remap done and a custom cat back exhaust fitted to my Octavia (2018 vRS TSI 245). Since then the radiator is always on once the car has warmed up and only goes off once i've turned off the ignition. The car isn't overheating and i'm not noticing any crazy coolant loss either. Could this be as simple as a faulty temperature sensor or could it be related to a faulty water pump? Any advice on this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Russ

not exactly the same but ive noticed my fan is ALWAYS on if I have the aircon running.

If i turn off the aircon it turns off straight away, not sure if this is normal to?

Mine is a 2016 VRS 230

Prior to having the remap and exhaust my fan worked perfectly even with the aircon on so i'm thinking either something happened whilst the work was being done or it's a bad timing coincidence that something else has gone wrong at the same time.

I'll have to get it booked in to get it looked at.

just out of curiosity, did your fan come on all the time if you turned the air con on?

No it didn't, it just came on as and when it needed to prior to the work being done. I always have the air con on anyway and i've owned the car for 4 years now with no issues with air con or radiator.

Might be a water pump, mine broke down sudenly at ~130k without any signs before, only a fan was working for some time after the ignition was turned off but nothing else
