Yet another CarPlay cable question

Featured Replies

Looking to change my 4 year old iphone for a new s****y 16 Pro, however it comes with a USB-C to Micro USB cable.  My car, a humble 2020 SE, has the good old original USB-B output to connect to so the cable that will come with the phone won’t work.  However I have loads of USB-B to micro USB cables from other bits of tech.

So, finally, my question.  Will the non apple USB-B to micro USB cable work with an iphone for CarPlay in a Karoq?

TIA oh wise ones out there.

You won't know until you try it and nor will anyone else.

IT technicians solve component problems by a process called swop till you drop.

Could you confirm the usb type in the car? usb b is like a printer cable

Is the iphone no longer "lightning" have they changed to usb c now?

If you need usb C male to Usb A male there are loads of cables available, but you need to check it's not "charging only" has to be a Data/charging  cable

Yes, my mistake, it’s a USB A output in the car to USB C on the phone.   I don’t have the phone yet so will be a case of see what if anything works.  Unfortunately no data connection over BT.

That applies to many cars, need to plug in for data connection. Slowly becoming available on new cars. But it took some a long time to host carplay in the first place.
