Octavia Style MK4 2021 multimedia screen (infotainment) gone crazy

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia 2021 MK4 (style, the one with the bigger screen and no knobs).

All of a sudden, without any warning, the infotainment system is "going crazy". As if someone is constantly clicking some random buttons, the volume controls don't always function (and this is regardless of whether CarPlay is connected or not). Here's a short clip: Shared album

Moreover, at the same time, I get weird warning as I drive - like rear and / or front maneuvering assist isn't functioning. I had trouble starting up the car today (but it's not battery related).

Again, it all started on the same day, I don't know what's going on. Has anyone experienced anything like that?
At the shop they told me that they probably need to replace the entire infotainment unit which is expensive as f***! any suggestions are welcome! If indeed I need to replace it, can I buy one on Amazon / ebay?

Thanks!

What version are you on ?

Could it be that the on/off touch button has fingerprints or other muck on it? Or maybe the touchscreen.

Perhaps try cleaning them.

There's so many topics on this that it is worth just browsing forum a bit.

No you can't buy anything yourself. Most probably it is not infotainment unit that has to be changed, or not only it, but the screen as well. First of all, infotainment has to be updated till 1941, as well as a bunch of other updates are most probably still not applied to your 2021 car. Then you shall see to which extent it cures your issues. Please make an effort and browse the forum for a lot of details, you have very common issue.
