Correct way of rear springs

Featured Replies

Hello

I would like to get some help for my Octavia. The other day I was looking underneath the car and noticed how the springs bends towards the wheels and that’s when the car is on the ground. I understand there should be a slight bend but I think it’s too much.
As I go downhill at the bottom where the road starts to go uphill the back of the car sits down, there I can hear the rear spring makes a snapping noise or twists inside its place. I know none of it sounds good and I checked them already if it’s broken but both springs are good.
Bought the car 2nd hand from main dealer, has a history of the towbar being retrofitted by them.
Sorry for the long story I hope someone can shed some light what it could be

Springs may not be broken but they may have been deformed by excessive loading. Even higher risk of this being the case where towing is involved.

Probably best to get a professional suspension specialist's opinion.

In future please add relevant details of the Octavia model/type/year for others to assist you or just add the vehicle details to your profile.

Can you post a picture showing deformation of the springs?
