Damaged nose cone.

Featured Replies

Received a set of speakers yesterday from ebay. One of the dust caps (middle bit) has been damaged. Looks like one of the tweeters has landed on top while in transport. Can't say its the ebayers fault. Maybe he should of packaged it a bit better.

Anyway. Does this actual cause any damage to the speaker? The way it sounds etc.

In my experience it doesn't affect the sound.

If it is pressed it try sucking it back out to shape with a vacuum cleaner pipe without a tool on the end.

If you are lucky it should just pop back. Don't make it worse by holding the pipe too close to the dome.

Cool I'll give it a try.

I would just wrap a bit of sellotape round my fingers first of all, and try and pull it out with that... the vacuum cleaner sounds a bit risky!

or just run them at a decent volume, the vibration might just knock it back out.

Might give that one a miss

Well last night after work I got the hoover out for a quick suck

With a combination of the hoover a some pushing with my thumb they are now as good as new. Just need to fit them now and see if they were buying
