New to Skoda need help on fault finding please

Featured Replies

Hi

I bought a Skoda Fabia 2008 2 years ago and absolutely love it.

However, I have recently had a problem with acceleration and the garage have said it's my timing chain which I had replaced when I bought it so am skeptical as to this being the problem. I did a bit of research and it came up with ignition coils so I have replaced the spark plugs and the 4 ignition coils but am still having the problem.

I can't accelerate over 50mph and the fuel monitor seems to decrease quickly in 5 miles increments.

Is there something else I should try or could it actually be the timing chain.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I would check for sure if the timing chain did not jump. It is common. "I can't accelerate over 50mph" is a sizeable loss of power.

Welcome to the forum.

I have asked a mod to move the thread to the Fabia Mk2 section where you might be able to have more help.

EDIT,

Sorry i see you have already posted there.
