New here and new owner of a 2021 VRS Estate (Petrol, Manual).

 

Getting to know it and I'm pretty sure that the car does not have Side Assist available. The most obvious sign being that there are no LEDs in the mirrors. Am I right that certain models/ages do not have this function by default?

 

I also cannot see traffic sign recognition available - would this be a result of the same limitations of the model I have?

 

Running software is v.1803 if this makes any difference to anything?

Welcome the forums & your new, to you, VRS.

 

When I read your post I was surprised it didn't have blindspot detection or traffic sign recognition (part of the travel assist bundle) so had a look at the .pdf brochure I have, dated 12/20. For the VRS both of those were options - so it seems you car is 'normal' for the year. If you're keen on adding them, then I'm sure it can be done for a fee - the guys at @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits (AIUI, they're a site sponsor) would be best able to comment. I am in no way affiliated with them, but am aware of some of their services.

@Neily03 - thanks for this. It's all new to me at the moment - do you mean I could purchase sign recognition as additional software via an app or infotainment system directly?

I think this is only for Models from 2023 and up. But I wouldn’t mind for my 2021 Octavia. I can’t see anything in the Shop

Thats what i did with mine but mine is a 2023 so may be different to yours.

Unfortunately it isn't available in the Skoda Store for all/most of them 😢😢

We can add Traffic Sign Recognition however it's not cheap. The most cost effective option is if you're also adding other features such as adaptive cruise control/high beam assist etc at the same time. This is because the necessary activation codes cost us the same whether for one feature or 8 features 

We can also add any other options you're missing, using genuine parts.
