Said goodbye to my vRS estate after 14 years and 240.000 nearly trouble-free miles. Just the small matter of having to purchase a new engine just outside the warranty period means I will never buy another VAG car.

In the end though it was the DSG gearbox that failed and the heater had stopped working ages ago.

On the whole a cracking car but a massive let-down from VAG and the dealer (Ridgeway).

Next car is a little faster but another sleeper just like the vRS was.

It sounds a great car from your description. A MkII VRS was my first Skoda and I felt it offered amazing bang for buck in 2008, solidly built, quick and smooth.
