2010 Skoda Fabia Combi (5J generation) 1.6

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am currently considering purchasing my first Skoda, specifically a 2010 Skoda Fabia Combi (5J generation) with the 1.6 petrol engine. The vehicle appears to have been well-maintained, with regular servicing at a Skoda dealership every 1,300 miles.

While researching, I came across some reports regarding issues with the 1.2 TDI engine. However, I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experience with the 1.6 petrol variant. Are there any known concerns or common issues associated with this engine?

The car I’m looking at seems to be in good condition, but I would be grateful for any advice on potential issues with this model and what specific areas I should inspect before proceeding with the purchase. Additionally, could someone confirm whether this model is equipped with a timing belt or timing chain?

Thank you in advance for your insights and assistance.

Welcome.

Your questions might get an answer if this was in the Mk2 Fabia section.

Does the 1.6 Petrol Estate have a Manual or Tiptronic (automatic) gearbox?
