I am looking at buying a 2010 Octavia 1.6 diesel. 107,000 kms.  (approx 65000 miles) On my the drive, the clutch felt "odd," and it had to go all the way to the floor to clear and be able to change gear. Is this normal? I have read the horror stories about the dual mass clutch and the aftermarket "normal" clutch kits. I would appreciate input before I go ahead with a purchase. 

My similar car has always required the clutch pedal to be pushed near to floor to fully disengage but never actually into the carpet.

Can you find another one for sale that you can test drive?

 

 

Thanks for the reply but we bought a different vehicle. The recurring  problems and availability of aftermarket Solid clutch  conversions put me right off.

All cars have problems but this scared me away.....
