Does anybody have opening hours of the company Blueflame?

I want to get my car booked in for tuesday, but they havent seemed to be open today. I wouldnt of thought they'd be open tomorrow if not today... i was thinking maybe Monday is short notice. See how it goes.. Thanks for any help.

Aaron

The offices would only be open Mon-Fri, but not sure about their fitting facility.

Out of interest, why are you going all the way to Skelmersdale to get an exhaust fitted?

For the drive up... And for a better drive down. It will be custom fitted with the custom oval 6x4 tip. Already spoken to Nigel... and a few people on here i know said its worth the drive back.

Hehe, I can appreciate that :)

I was going to say, if you were just having the standard system then there's no need to have Blueflame fit it - past experience is they're a fantastic fit anyway.

About time they made the custom 6x4 oval a standard option isn't it? ;)

Yeah, Harry_vRS's tailpipe looks stunning. And i appreciate more from his pic, as we have the same colour. A full turbo back, and they'll fit it completely. Cant complain, Hopefully the car will feel different aswell as sound different on the way back

;)

Snoopie you will :Dx1000 on the way back, believe me. First time I booted it i actually laughed.

Everyone who I work with thinks I'm a ch@v boyracer now, but do I give a 5hit?

...no.

Hopefully it should... bring me up to about a steady... 185/190 brake with the exhaust fitted..... Hopefully, my remap is probably around 180, but i underestimated it back at 175+ so i dont look odd at a rolling road :D

Looking forward to getting it fitted now. Will leave at about 5:30 in the morning and hopefully get up there for around 9ish. I hope theirs loads of tunnels on the way back

What's the sound of the BF system like compared to the standard item?

I had a BF system on my valver Corsa and it was perfect for the car but would be too loud for my Fabia IMO, although I'll be after a BF replacement when the standard item gives up anyway :D

I actually preferred the sound of mine in the first few hundred miles - it was a higher pitched rasp than the deeper, agressive note after it had coked up a bit.

As you're going to visit them, do you happen to have xenons as the (excellent quality) exhaust hits the xenon-auto-height-adjust-sensor rather easily (read: you have to bend the cr*p out of things to get it to fit).

Also if you're able to take some snaps that would be cool, I've got a BF full cat back and I've had to fit extra clips to stop the exhaust sliding sideways as unlike the OEM exhaust the BF one just has pins sticking through the supports.

Beyond that tweak the exhaust was excellent, fits very well and is a very good bit of kit, not too noisy either

You'll enjoy the extra spinup noises of the turbo ;)

@Joff - soz missed your post just now. Noise wise it seemed fairly quiet inside the car, but I've heard some of Shifty's BF exhaust noises and that was a different sounding car ;)

I heard about the Xenon's problem. And i dont have them. I'll take photos of it being put on... before and after. Ill also record videos of before and after! And then post them! Really looking forward to it now!

You mentioned from the catback that you had to fit clips to stop it sliding, do Blueflame not thoroughly check it before i leave? Obviously i'll want it pefect enough for it too last like. This will be a turbo back... so i wonder if the extra spinup noises of the turbo will be louder?

The xenon thing didnt seem to be a problem when mine was fitted- asked how it went expecting him to say about this, but no!

The spin up noise is louder, I never heard it inside the car with windows up before and now I do. Sounds good. The different noise comes when the turbo kicks in properly, it gives a deep note with a louder sort of metallic noise from the turbo  lol. Whatever it is, I like it

Make sure you take a PSP or something. Its a long, boring wait

How long does it take? might get a taxi to the local centre... Did you notice a difference in performance Dave?

Took about 3 and a half hours.

Yeah the car seems to keep going more at higher revs

Excellent.... Do you have any video's? I've seen Harrys and Shifty's. You got the 6x4 Oval too didnt you?

I've got the round one, bought via the GB here at some point. Didn't get it fitted by BF though.

When they take your old exhaust off you'll see the shape of the supports coming off the exhaust are a bit like this (bad hacking follows:)

_ _/

_/

[---------------

[---------------

_\

__\

(the _ is actually a space but the forum software moved the flange back so put those in)

whereas the BF one is a bit like this:

[

[--------------------------

[--------------------------

[

i.e. it has no flange holding it in place. It was fine for a week or two, then it twisted.

As you're getting it fitted by BF themselves though, if you find this is the case they should be able to sort it out on the spot.

As said, it's a minor issue and as you have no Xenons you'll have fewer problems anyway.

You sure will enjoy the drive back

Fitting it shouldn't take that long, about an hour tops with a ramp :)

Any pics of this 6x4 pipe then..............?

There is a good picture of it in a 'members cars' thread, annoyingly I'm on a different machine today so I've not got it bookmarked but Shifty probably has some threads with pics in it if you do a search :)

To be honest, i dont really want to drive back to London with my old exhaust system, have any of you left your's with blueflame? Did they give you any money back for it? I think i'll take of the vRS tailpipe for sure though, and sell it elsewhere

Make sure if you do that they cut it somewhere in the pipe where it's easy to get the pipes attached together again :)

I doubt they'd give you anything for it in fairness though, so if you're after a bit of dosh for it you'll probably have to take it back/flog it :)

I'll have to give it away for nothing then.... There are times... when i hate the white/cream seats of the fabia!

I left it with blueflame as they said there was a bit of work involved in putting a standard system back on. Didn't expect anything for it, otherwise it would cost

Well I cut mine up (a lot) so I could drop it in my loft post-fitting. Just buy a cheap plastic picknick type sheet and drop that in, drop the seats down and it should easily fit :)

PS - That was actually the gallery I spotted, Harry's one  cheers for the linky there harry :)
